Laura Augustus

I am a mum of two children who go to Lanesend and am passionate about helping the school continue its journey to make all students love learning.  My children really enjoy coming to school and I love having daily conversations with them about what they have learnt and how they have learnt it.  The wealth of activities available to them always impresses me as they have represented the school in a huge range of activities which compliments their education.

I moved to the Island when I was 11 and went to Somerton Middle (the school before it was called Lanesend) so I've always had a soft spot for Lanesend and feel it is important to give back to the community that I grew up in.  I have been a teacher for 20 years so use my experience and knowledge to convene the Teaching and Learning group which provides an insight into the curriculum and fantastic things that go on at Lanesend and I hope will continue to be provided for future students.
