Governors

Our Governors work alongside Team Lanesend to support the school in setting the strategic direction and improvment of our school. They challenge and hold the school to account for the standards and quality of education we provide for our children.

The role of the Local Governing Board is a strategic one; its key functions are to:

• set the aims and objectives for the school
• set the policies for achieving those aims and objectives
• set the targets for achieving those aims and objectives
• monitor and evaluate the progress the school is making towards achievement of its aims and objectives
• be a source of challenge and support to the Headteacher (a critical friend)

Lanesend, St Francis and St Blasius share a Local Governing Board who meet as a full group on a Wednesday evening once every half term.
The Governors are:
    • Mandy Watson (Chair, SEND and Attendance and Assessment Governor)
    • Sophie Overton (Vice Chair, Safeguarding Governor, Parent Governor Lanesend)
Gill Bushell (Staff Governor, St Francis)
    • Hannah Mew (Staff Governor, St Blasius)
    • Rob Torrington (Parent Governor, St Blasius)
    • Jo Saunders (Governor)
    • Alex Augustus (Executive Headteacher)
