Vision for Religious Education
Lanesend Primary School’s RE curriculum provides our children with an enquiry-based approach based upon the philosophy that children are free to make their own decisions and choices regarding religions and beliefs. We want children to be able to make connections, ask and respond to challenging questions and be deep thinkers who are open minded about religion and worldviews. Lanesend Primary School’s curriculum is based on the Living Difference IV syllabus for Hampshire, which seems to introduce children and young people to what a religious way of looking at, and existing in, the world may offer in leading one’s life, individually and collectively.
Although Religion Education is a statutory Curriculum Subject, Parents and Carers do have the legal right to withdraw their child from lessons. If you would like to discuss this, please contact the Headteacher.
