Lanesend Primary School’s Geography curriculum inspires our children to develop their curiosity and fascination for the world and its people. We offer opportunities for our children to explore the world and to appreciate its richness and variety. We want the knowledge and skills the children learn to contribute to their understanding of the human and physical world in which they live and their place within it. We want pupils to develop the confidence to question and observe places, measure and record necessary data in various ways, and analyse and present their findings. Lanesend Primary School’s curriculum is based on Kapow, providing a progressive sequence of learning and aims to promote the children’s interest and understanding about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. We hope to encourage pupils to become resourceful, active citizens who will have the skills to contribute to and improve the world around them.
