Nicky Domoney

This is my eleventh year working at Lanesend Primary School. During this time, I have undertaken a range of varied and rewarding roles. Initially I began working within the 'Team Around The Child' Team and then in January 2016, I transferred into the Early Years Team as a Learning Support Assistant. I absolutely adore working in Early Years and have been supported over time to develop in my role achieving HLTA status in 2018 and in June 2021, I completed my Teacher Training and achieved Qualified Teacher Status. I am now delighted to be working as an Early Career Teacher in school and am enjoying every aspect of teaching within the Reception Team. I feel proud and privileged to be a part of ‘Team Lanesend’ and in keeping with the school ethos – I enjoy and ‘love learning’ with our children, families and the school team every minute of every day.

Prior to joining ‘Team Lanesend’ I completed my Degree and Postgraduate Studies in Manchester and worked across the UK and on the Isle of Wight as a Human Resource Manager – during this time I married and had three lovely children. During my children's early years, I chose to become a full time Mum and have the happiest memories of sharing this time together – alongside being a full time Mum, my interest in child development grew and I began to volunteer in Primary Schools on the Island and became the Chairperson at a local Pre-School. I also had the opportunity to live in Australia for a year and volunteered in Primary School and Early Years settings in Adelaide. My desire to work in a school environment was confirmed - how lucky I feel to now be working in a most wonderful, inspiring, caring and nurturing school.

My children have all attended Lanesend Primary School and I am delighted that they have experienced all that Lanesend Primary School has to offer – memories which I am sure will last a lifetime.

Outside of school, I am ‘family and friends’ orientated. As a family we really enjoy making the most of the outdoors – dog walking and taking our camper van out to the forest, along the coast, beach days, picnics, barbeques and cycling.
