Lorna Punter

This is my first year teaching at Lanesend Primary and I feel privileged and fortunate to have joined such a wonderful team at such a unique and extraordinary school!
Before joining Lanesend, I grew up in a hamlet here on the island attending local schools and enjoying all the wonderful opportunities island life offers. After a gap year spent backpacking across Europe and three years at university, I settled in Windsor where I worked in industries ranging from sales management to operations and logistics within the film and TV industry- a role that certainly kept me busy. Despite the joy and excitement I felt whilst living away, I couldn’t resist the call of home and island life that I so greatly missed and chose to return to the island to retrain as a teacher. A decision I am so pleased I made as it brought me here to Lanesend to teach the wonderful, vibrant Reliance Class.
Over the past 10 years, I have been lucky to travel and work in different parts of the world affording me with an attitude that anything is possible if you work hard and follow your dreams, hence why I chose to follow mine and take up teaching! This attitude that anything is possible is something I strive to instil in all those I teach. In the words of Walt Disney “If you can dream it, you can do it.” I can’t wait to help our children achieve their dreams at Lanesend.
