I feel very lucky to be a member of Team Lanesend and have been part of the school for about eight years now.
When I left school I trained to be a teacher and once I had qualified I worked at an infant school in Northamptonshire.
Living away from the Island was fun, but having been spoilt with a childhood of sunshine, walks and beaches we decided to return. Moving back after ten years away was exciting!
I taught in several Island schools, eventually finding myself as a supply teacher while my family were growing up. It was then that I walked into Lanesend...and I am still here. I worked across Key Stage 1, covering PPA time for quite a few years, and last year I began working full time here, teaching Year 4.
It is a privilege to be a teacher and I love my job. Every day is different and every day is new.
Away from school I enjoy running; running with friends, running with family, running in races and running by myself. I like to challenge myself with this and find that some of my best thinking happens while running! I like being outdoors and if I am not running I like cycling, walking, or even better a family picnic in the sunshine, on a beach.
