Although I am new to Team Lanesend, I have been teaching for over 20 years. Initially I taught on the mainland, in a junior school in Glastonbury. After nine years there I moved to the island and have since taught in a middle school and two primary schools before arriving here in September. During my career I have taught across the whole of Key Stage 2 and also in Years 7 and 8 (though I much prefer the primary age range). I have been lucky enough to have taught in some large schools like Lanesend and also in a very small village school with less than 70 pupils. The most rewarding part of my job, is seeing children develop the confidence to try new things; to move from feeling that they can't do something to the realisation that they have done it. Better still is the fact that, thanks to the young people I work with, in 23 years no 2 days have ever been the same and every day of every week the children teach me something new.
