Lanesend Primary School is bright, colourful, fun and optimistic; just like everyone in it.
We are an open primary school, providing education to children in our local community of Cowes and welcome others from around the Island.
We are very lucky to have a highly skilled and dedicated team. We take pride in seeing ourselves as a 21st Century learning centre in which our children and staff are supported and encouraged to enjoy their work and take every opportunity to develop and maximise their skills. At our school we are striving to be outward looking, seeking strong parental partnerships in helping foster our children's development. We are proud of the positive relationships that we enjoy with them and the warm feedback we receive.
As of the 1st September 2014 we became an academy school allowing us to create our own vision for our children, staff and families. If, as a parent of a pupil attending this school, you require a paper copy of the information on this website, we shall provide this free of charge.
Every year at Lanesend, our children take part in the cardboard challenge. We collect lots of cardboard, much of it donated from parents and staff etc.
This year was no exception as mountains of cardboard were transformed into amazing creations.
The children’s imaginations did not disappoint as they taped, glued and cut to make a range of objects big and small. There have been cars, bird feeders, buses, houses, rockets, masks, people, towers and castles just to name a few.
The children absolutely loved it from designing and making. I’m sure many of our families will have cardboard creations dotted around the house for weeks!
This is inspired by ‘Caine’s Arcade’. In 2011, at the age of 9, Caine Monroy spent his summer vacation building an elaborate cardboard arcade in his dad’s used auto parts store in East Los Angeles.read more...
